Promoter Aljoe Jaro announced yesterday (November 5) he rejected the offer made by fight agent Michael Koncz for their ward North American Boxing Federation (NABF) super bantamweight king Bernabe Concepcion to fight World Boxing Organization (WBO) super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez in the undercard of the "Dream Match" between Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya on December 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I did not accept it (the offer) for lack of time," Jaro told Philboxing. "We are not prepared for it with barely a month to go. They should have made the offer earlier."

Jaro admitted that Concepcion is finding it hard to remain in his present weight at 122 lbs and is interested to fight in the 126 lbs.

Jaro said it is official that the proposed Concepcion-Lopez duel on Decmber 6 is off. Koncz reportedly told him to decide immediately as matchmaker Bruce Zampler was waiting.

"Tinapos ko na. We will not fight on December 6. Instead, I will pit Concepcion against either a rated Thai or Japanese fighter in Araneta Coliseum on December 26," Jaro said. "Concepcion is still young and can wait for the right opportunity to fight for the world championship."

Jaro said they are targeting WBO featherweight champion Steve Luevano if Concepcion will win impressively on December 26.
