Ilonggo colleagues of world title challenger Sonny Boy Jaro at the Jaro Boxing Stable in Binangonan, Rizal said they are confident that the 26-year old Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) light flyweight titlist will bring home the World Boxing Council (WBC) light flyweight crown currently worn by Edgar Sosa when he returns from Mexico City after September 27.

Denver Cuello, RP minimumweight champion, said although he was not sure if Jaro could knock out the 29-year old Sosa in the early rounds as what Jaro?s handlers would like to happen to avert a hometown decision, ?I am confident that he can beat Sosa because of his experience and good training.?

Cuello, 21, a native of Cabatuan, Iloilo, who has sparred with Jaro, admitted that the world title challenger is ?fast and physically prepared for a long distance brawl.?

Another Iloilo fighter Remy ?Yoroshi? Cuambot, stablemate of Cuello and Jaro, said he won?t be surprised if Jaro (28-6, 17 KOs) will stop Sosa (32-5, 17 KOs) in the later rounds ?because Jaro is a bell-to-bell fighter and a sharp shooter from start to finish.?

?He moves very quick and hits like a hammer,? Cuambot, an engineering graduate from University of Iloilo, said in Hiligaynon. ?In our gym, he, along with Denver Cuello, is the most feared puncher. He is merciless in the ring but gentleman outside the ring.?

Another Ilonggo, Chad Colocado, registered manager of Cuambot and super bantamweight contender Van Bantillan, said ?Jaro is so different now.?

?I have seen his training and he is so determined to win. He has become stronger and has lots of endurance and stamina,? said Colocado, who obtained a Mexican visa for the title fight at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City.

The 12-round title fight is the first world title quest for Jaro, who will be accompanied to Mexico by his manager and cousin, Aljoe Jaro and trainer Francisco.

Aljoe Jaro himself said his ward is well-prepared and excited at the prospect to become the country?s third world champion after World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight champion Manny Pacquiao, World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight king Gerry Penalosa, and International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr.

Sosa was the same Mexican fighter who dethroned highly-touted Filipino-Hawaiian Brian Viloria on April 14, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas for the WBC title.

He has so far repulsed five challengers and is looking forward to defend his title next against another Filipino Juanito Rubillar if he successfully tackles the dangerous Jaro.

Team Jaro will leave for Mexico City via Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Sept. 14.
