Rod Nazario and Lito Mondejar?s ?In this Corner? boxing returns to Binangonan today to present what is expected to be another round of nothing but exciting slugfests. The event is being presented in cooperation with the Rizal Provincial Government of Gov. Junjun Ynares and Mayor Boyet Ynares whose support has always been instrumental to the growth of the sport not only in this lake-side town but also in the Philippines, in general. The success currently enjoyed by NABF super-bantamweight champion Bernabe Concepcion, a protege of the Jaro Stable which is based in this town is expected to spark further interest in tonite?s event even though Binangonan is the home of most ardent boxing fans.
Current RP mini-flyweight champion Denver Cuello of the Jaro Stable will headline the 10-bout 70-round card in a 10-round non-title fight against Michael Landero of the Wildcard Boxing Gym to be fought under the 108-lb limit. Another Wildcard Gym boxer, Danilo Pena, the reigning RP super-flyweight champion squares off with RP No. 9 super-flyweight contender Anthony Esmedina of the Dagdagen Boxing Stable, also in a 10-round non-title bout contracted to be at the 117-lb limit. Completing the quadruple main event are matches between former WBC International minimum-weight champion Gabriel Pumar (Jaro Stable) and Eric Rapada (Tiger City Stable) and between Dan Nazareno, Jr. (Wildcard Stable) and Elmer Saligumba (Robert Montemayor Stable), both bouts scheduled for 10 rounds.
