Lady fighter Brenda Shaylor of Las Vegas has thanked Cebu sportsman Antonio L. Aldeguer and his team for giving her the chance to showcase her fistic talents on July 26 in a very big card dubbed "Laban na Banal: Panahon Na" at the New Cebu City Coliseum.

Shaylor, who is trained by Las Vegas-based trainer/cutman Anthony Martin, whose wife Yvonne is a native of Liloan, Cebu, is scheduled to arrive on Monday, July 21st, and is expected to join the press conferences and other media activities related to the event.

"She would like to thank Tony Aldeguer for giving her this chance to come to the Philippines to appear on such a big event," Martin told this writer in an interview, referring to Shaylor.

Shaylor will face Bacolod City's Reynalyn Consejo Jacob in a four-round bout in what will surely be an explosive match-up.

Asked about Shaylor's fighting style, and fight attributes, Martin stated: "I have been training her now for little over a year, and she is a joy to train, with a great work ethic and sense of humor. She is very attractive, and highly intelligent, but don't let these attributes fool you, she's coming to fight...I am sure you boys from the press will like her, as well as the Filipino boxing fans...Hopefully the fight will be a good one and the fans will be entertained."

Martin, who stayed for several years in Cebu with his family before relocating to Las Vegas where he continues to train fighters while wife Yvonne works as a nurse in one of the Las Vegas hospitals, says that once again he will serve as the cutman for AJ 'Bazooka' Banal for the latter's WBA superflyweight bout against Panama's Rafael Concepcion "and any other fights Tony wishes me to do."
