Undefeated star Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) could be making his return to the ring before the end of 2026, as it has been reported that talks are underway for a lightweight bout against Floyd Schofield, possibly later this year.

Davis is coming off a draw with Lamont Roach Jr. in 2025 and has been inactive for nearly 14 months, in addition to dealing with legal issues outside of boxing. Despite this long hiatus, Davis still boasts an impressive professional record of 30-0-1 with 28 knockouts.

Other reports indicate that Gervonta Davis may be wanted by Maryland authorities for allegedly violating his probation following his arrest in Miami on domestic violence charges, according to the Baltimore County Court database.

There appears to be an order dated April 24th, although Davis's lawyers filed arguments to have it revoked, but it was apparently denied on May 22nd, and the order may still be in effect.

Davis was arrested on January 14th in Florida on charges of assault, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping. He eventually posted bail and was ordered to have no contact with his former partner. While it was reported that the false imprisonment charge was dropped, the assault and attempted kidnapping charges remained.

The latest information indicates that the Baltimore County court database shows an active arrest warrant, and if apprehended, Davis would be held without bail.
