AQ Prime CEO Atty. Aldwin F. Alegre won against players from India, Europe and the United States in the 23rd Bangkok Chess Club International Chess Tournament 2026 held at Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa Hua Hin, Thailand.

In a stunning display of competitive spirit against his Indian opponent, Atty. Aldwin Alegre, known for his aggressive playing style with white pieces, opens up with King Indian's Attack where on move 16 he made a devastating and tactical Knight sacrifice which compels his Indian opponent to resign on move 23 due to unavoidable incoming checkmate.

Beginning with a strong King Indian's Attack, Atty. Alegre's game with the United States player ended in a win on his favor after a grueling 6 hours playing time. Atty. Alegre made a Bishop sacrifice on move 78 to finally seal the win at end game stage of the match.

Similarly, AQ Prime's CEO playing black with his Modern Defense King's Indian won against his European opponent from Denmark after 38 moves.

I'm happy and it's a milestones achievement for me because I had so many learnings from this International Chess Tournament in Thailand. I just hope that similar major tournaments may be held also in the Philippines through our National Chess Federation (NCFP) so we can attract chess enthusiasts from around the globe.

The achievement not only underscores the CEO's personal dedication to the game but also reflects AQ Prime's commitment to excellence and strategic thinking in all endeavors. As the tournament concluded, the CEO expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete at such a high level and emphasized the importance of perseverance and intellectual challenge in both chess and business.

Atty. Aldwin Alegre is a CPA Lawyer with passion in chess since childhood and currently the organizer of 10th AQ Prime Chess Standard Open Tournament on June 6-7, 2026 at Ali Mall Cubao, Quezon City. -Marlon Bernardino-
