AMATEUR boxing, mixed martial arts and jiu-jitsu will all be contested in Bangkok during the 33rd Southeast Asian Games scheduled on December 9 to 20 in Thailand.
Boxing has been a part of the SEA Games since the very first edition and continues to be included.
The men and women categories will both be played with 12 entries.
Two Filipino professional boxers Eumir Felix Marcial and Jerald “Truman” Into will see action back for the Philippines in the amateur ranks.
The 30-year-old Marcial is a veteran amateur with 71 wins, 26 knockout, against 22 losses while Into, 25, has one win and four losses as an amateur.
Into, however, has 13 wins with 10 knockouts with only one loss as a professional while Marcial posted seven wins with four knockouts as a pro.
Meanwhile, Ju-jitsu will take place in Pathum Thani Province, a metropolitan area adjacent to Bangkok.
Ju-jitsu was first included in the SEA Games in 2019 and has continued to be a part of the competition through to the 2025 SEA Games.
Mixed Martial Arts, on the other hand, has been selected as one of the demonstration sports this year.
Competitions will be held in Nonthaburi Province, part of the Bangkok metropolitan area.
The other martial arts - Wushu, wrestling, Muay, judo, Karate and reinstated Pencak Silat will all be played in Songkhla Province.
The weightlifting competitions will take place in Chonburi province.
Taekwondo will be held in Samut Prakan province, located in the metropolitan area of Bangkok.
