Friday’s Boxing Action Concludes Inside Arvest Convention Center
TULSA, Okla. (September 19, 2025) – The male and female PeeWee, Bantam and Intermediate divisions crowned champions Friday inside Arvest Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the 2025 USA Boxing National Open. Championship bouts were also set within the Junior, Youth and Elite male and female divisions during the day’s lone session of Olympic style boxing. Friday’s recap is presented by Rosetta Stone, USA Boxing’s official partner for language learning.
There were 47 championship bouts contested throughout the day’s slate and 49 champions given titles, due to walkovers on the penultimate day of competition. During Friday’s schedule of contested bouts, there were 10 male and three female PeeWee title winners, 11 male and three female Bantam title winners and 14 male and eight female title winners.
Closing out the day in ring one was a tight battle in the Intermediate male 95 lbs division, featuring Antonio Singleton (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Santana Cabrera (Kissimmee, Fla.). Singleton took the first round with a 3-2 split after landing a flurry of shots on Cabrera. Cabrera responded in the next round with his size advantage and reach, earning an 8-count in the process before taking the second round with a 3-2 split of his own. Cabrera turned up the heat and earned a unanimous decision in the final frame to close out the bout with a 4-1 decision to earn his first championship at a USA Boxing national event.
“It means a lot because this is my first actual nationals winning,” Cabrera noted after earning the title. “I have let a lot of nationals slip, but this time I buckled down and I did what I had to do. I came all the way from Florida, and I didn’t want to waste my coaches and my dad’s time. I had to make a statement.”
The 2025 USA Boxing National Open will continue on Saturday with one final session inside the Arvest Convention Center, beginning at noon CT.
