THE National Shelter Month 2025 Run will be held on October 25, Saturday at 4 a.m. at the Davao Global Township in Matina, Davao City.

“The proceeds will go to the Warriors of the House of Hope,” said Dorothy Gumapac, Regulation Officer IV of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development [DHSUD] at Thursday’s DSA Forum in SM Davao.

The beneficiary is the House of Hope, which is a Foundation for Kids with Cancer Inc.

Gumapac said that they “chose the House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer, Inc. because it is the advocacy of the former President Duterte.”

“We believe that extending help to the children of the House of Hope is equivalent to providing emotional support, joy, and a sense of belonging, while raising awareness about the importance of compassionate shelter and care for vulnerable groups, especially children battling cancer,” said Gumapac.

The race is open to everybody with three categories 10-kilometer, 5km and 3km.

“The race will have the turn-around for the 3km at Citi Hardware, for 5k at Rams Lechon Manok and for 10k at the Ateneo in Sandawa Matina,” said race director Kenneth Sai of Kinetix Sports.

Aside from the regular prizes, there will also be raffles.
The event is also supported by the Social Housing Finance Corporation [SHFC], Pag-IBIG Fund (HDMF), National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC), National Housing Authority [NHA] and the Human Settlement Adjudication Commission [HSAC].
