NP Bansalan rules Buhangin slugfest

THE NP Bansalan Boxing team won eight out of 10 bouts to rule the first Association of Boxing Alliances in Davao City [ABADC] Boxing Tournament held last Saturday, August 9 at the Buhangin Gym in Barangay Buhangin Proper, Davao City.

Loyd Jed Prevendido, a gold medalist in DAVRAA and silver in Palaro, beat Angelo Zeta of Davao City by a majority decision in the 49-kilograms.

He is the son of Coach Nonoy Prevendido, head of the NP Boxing team.

Bobby Laraño [48kg] delivered powerful punches on Davao’s Jimboy Tarucan for a referee-stop-contest in the first round.

Bam Bam Lavario [39kg] stopped James Samala of Davao in the second round by a technical knockout.

Dexter Vileanil [51kg] broke Kent Dadivas of Tacurong in the 3rd round by RSC in 1:30.

Brent Lorenz Afable [46kg] overpowered Ian Sagarino [DC] for a unanimous decision while Jimram Dumapias [37kg] beat James Sumaya [DC] by majority decision.

Antonio Gaspar [42kg] wrecked Adrian Adurbo [DC] by a MD while Luarence Lanticse [51kg] thwarted Wilnard Pormanis [DC] by UD.

John Michael Castro [44kg] lost Erick Erana [DC] by a MD while John Denzel Buriaza [52kg] lost to Jacob Capilitan [DC] by a UD.

The ABADC, which is headed by the Tinagsa brothers – Luisito “Bebe”, Paquito “Nathan” and Angelito “Titing”, is composed of coaches, referees, judges, trainers and former boxers in Davao.

Among them were Decembrix Ambray, Rico Laput, Mike Adlawan, Raul Revilla, Eddie Getana, Jimmy Abray, Mike Revilla and Ramil Bongcao.

John More Bacsan [DC] stopped Xheyver Abando [Tac] in the 1st round by RSC body punch in 1:25
CJ Revilla [Tac] beat Mark Joseph Ducado [DC] by UD
