JOVANE Adam of Santa Cruz Trail Runners gained the lead in the last 30 kilometers to rule the 2nd BBG 300 Ultra Marathon last 4 a.m. on August 3 in Lupon, Davao Oriental.

“We did it! 300km of sweat, pain, and determination,” said Adam on Facebook.

Adam clocked 51 hours, 2 minutes and 42 seconds to beat defending champion Virgilio Undaloc of Catbalogan City.

Undaloc, who took the early lead in the first 100K starting from General Santos City going to Davao Occidental, finished second at 52:39:04.

Third was Jie Huerbana of Digos City at 53:03:09 followed by Edison Baguio [53:26:01], Allen Atup [68:00:23], Robert Lingeras [71:20:41] and Russel Casleb [71:21:19] as fourth to seventh place.

Jessa Bolanio [71:51:43] and Lilibeth Garcia [73:07:54] both finished beyond cut-off-time.

“To stand here as the marathon champion is a dream come true. This victory is the culmination of countless hours of training, sacrifices, and pushing beyond my perceived limits. I am deeply humbled by the journey and by the people who made it possible.”

Adam thanked all his sponsors including Gov. Edwin I Jubahib, Vice Gov. Clarice Jubahib and Mayor Jorjan Federiso.

“This win is not just about crossing the finish line, it's about the community that carried me there,” said Adam.

The longest running footrace was organized by the BBG Run headed by race director Roel Amabao-Ano and powered by Davao Ultra Runners Club.
