March 10, 2025 – Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing wishes to congratulate his fighter, fast-rising lightweight Luis 'Koreano' Torres (21-1, 12 KOs) of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, for his impressive third-round TKO victory over comebacking former WBA featherweight champion Nicholas Walters (29-2-1, 22 KOs) on Saturday night at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, CA, and streamed live on global boxing powerhouse PROBOX TV.

Making his ring debut on American soil, the powerful southpaw Torres was too big and strong for the game, but outgunned Walters.

Considered a “pick em” fight before it started, 23-year-old Torres dropped Walters with a thudding series of punches that prompted him to voluntarily take a knee for an eight count from Referee Rudy Barragan late in round three.

After round’s end, the fading Walters elected not to come out for round four.

With the victory, Torres joined three-division champion Vasiliy Lomachenko as the only men to defeat the formidable former champion Walters.

“’Koreano' Torres was sensational,” said Sampson Lewkowicz. “With this victory he has put the lightweight division on notice and gained thousands of new fans. Only the all-time-great Lomachenko was able to do that to Walters before this. Thank you to Garry Jonas of ProBox TV, which has established itself as the streaming service with consistently the best fights in boxing and as a springboard outlet for the Premier Boxing Champions stars of tomorrow.”
