LICENSED architect, master plumber and freelance illustrator/graphic artist Gen Lex Filipinas Piore of Davao City is excited to fight again.
This time it will be kickboxing for 27-year-old Piore, who will face newcomer Desiree Jedaiel Bongabong, 18, of Tagum City in the Reality Fighting League [RFL] Kickboxing Series on February 9 at Diho 2 Covered Court in Cabantian, Davao City.
“It’s challenging to prepare for a fight since I have to balance work, training, and making weight,” said Piore of RJP Boxing Promotions.
Piore said that “it’s definitely not an easy task but one of her goals from last year was to fight again.”
She won in her debut last 2022 in the 1st Gensan National Open Muay Thai category.
“It’s rare for Muay Thai to be present here in Davao City,” said Piore, who is trained by Junex Gamolo.
Piore said that Bongabong “is good and fast” and “is thankful that she agreed to meet the weight qualifications to share the ring.”
“It’s great that there’s finally a local organization in the city for Muay Thai and kickboxing fights,” said Piore.
Piore, who is fighting for the first time in kickboxing, trying to cut into a smaller weight division, and balancing work and training.
“I’m really challenging myself in this fight because everything about the preparation is a first to me,” said Piore.
