THERE are 10 divisions with no champions registered in the month of November by the Games and Amusement Board.

They are minimumweight, light flyweight, flyweight, super flyweight, bantamweight, super bantamweight, super featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and super welterweight.

The only reigning champions are Michael “Hot ‘N Spicy” Dasmarinas [featherweight-126 lbs.] of Pili, Camarines Sur and Rimar “Terminator” Metuda [super lightweight-140 lbs.] of Cagayan de Oro City.

The 32-year-old Dasmarinas [36-3-2, 25KOs] won by retirement over Jon Jon Estrada of Quezon to win the vacant Philippine featherweight title last June 22, 2024 in Cataingan.

Dasmarinas recently won by a technical knockout over Eduardo Esquivel of Belize in the 1st round to win the vacant WBF International featherweight title last November 2 at Lions Centre in George Town, Grand, Cayman Islands.

The 30-year-old Metuda [17-9-1, 11KOs], on the other hand, won the vacant super lightweight title by retirement over Alvin Lagumbay of Bukidnon in the 9th round last December 15, 2023 in General Santos City.

Metuda, however, bowed to Marwan Mohamad Madboly of Egypt by a unanimous decision last May 25 in Abu Dhabi.

Metuda, who is now based in Davao City, is scheduled to defend his title this year against Ali Canega of Paranaque City at the Blow by Blow in General Santos City.

Meanwhile, the Boxer of the Month is Froilan “The Snipper” Saludar [36-8-1, 25KOs] of Polomolok, won the WBA International bantamweight title.

The 35-year-old Saludar won over William Flores of Venezuela by unanimous decision last November 15 at Agenda Arena in Dubai.

GAB is headed by Chairman lawyer Francisco Rivera with chief of boxing and other contact sports division Rodil Manaog.
