Yanong KOs Phayom in 2nd round

REYMOND “Robocop” Yanong of Negros Occidental knocked out Campee Phayom of Thailand in the 2nd round to win the Asian Boxing Federation lightweight title last December 26 at the Spaceplus Bangkok RCA in Bangkok.

The 30-year-old Yanong stopped Phayom in 2:17 in the 2nd round.

It was the 16th win by Yanong with 11 knockouts against 10 loses and one draw while 27-year-old Phayom had 15th setback against 25 wins and two draws.

Meanwhile, American Jermaine Hardison won by a unanimous decision over Sukrit Nakpreecha in a 10-round super featherweight bout.

The event was promoted by Supanat Chanram and Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Team.
