JAYSON “The Smasher” Mama of General Santos City is now in Miami, Florida to continue his preparation for his fight against Juan Carlos “El Indio” Camacho of Puerto Rico for the vacant WBO NABO flyweight championship on October 30 at the Coliseo Marcelo Trujillo Panisse-Humacao in Puerto Rico.

The 27-year-old Mama arrived in Miami last October 20 together with trainer Ronerex Dalut. They are scheduled to fly to Puerto Rico on October 27.

“I’m still a little jet lagged. But what's amazing is that I’m 100 percent now,” said Mama [20-1-0, 10KOs].

Mama said that he has trained three months for this fight.

“We’re still continuing training here at Moros Boxing Gym,” said Mama.

Mama, a former world title challenger, added that he just gained a little bit weight and is trying to lose it.

Mama recently won the vacant WBF International super flyweight title after beating Carlo Demecillo by unanimous decision last July 11, 2024 in Malungon, Sarangani.

Mama lost only when he challenged reigning IBF World flyweight champion Sunny Edwards by unanimous decision last December 11, 2021 in Dubai.

Camacho, on the other hand, has 17 wins with one loss and eight knockouts.

The 28-year-old Camacho just won the vacant WBO NABO super flyweight title by beating Josue Morales via a unanimous decision last April 6, 2024 at Coliseo Salvador Dijols in Ponce.

Miguel Cotto of MC Promotions, Hector Soto of H2 Entertainment and Felix Tuto Zabala Jr. of All Star Boxing Inc. are the promoters.
