
Montano stops Thakran in 5th round for claim UBO Continental welterweight title

JOEPHER “El Gwapito” Montano of Bago City stopped Shiva Thakran of India in the 5th round for the UBO Continental welterweight title last October 6, Sunday at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 28-year-old Montano, who is based in Dubai, posted his 19th win and 16th knockout against five loses and two draws while Thakran suffered his sixth setback against 19 wins and one draw.
Montano also recently scored a 2nd round knockout against Atchariva Wirojanasunobol of Thailand to retain his WBO Oriental welterweight title last March 30, 2024 at World Siam Stadium in Bangkok.
Meanwhile, Surimongkhon Iamthuan beat Matt Floyd by a split decision in 12th round to win the WBF World light heavyweight.
The other fights in the “FCC 7” saw:
Angelina Lukas defeated Debora Anahi Lopez by a unanimous decision to win the vacant IBO World super flyweight title.
Alessio Bisutti TKO’d Gurkan Karadag in 1st round to win UBO Continental heavyweight title
Ege Arin Konuk outclassed Shiyam by UD to win UBO Continental super lightweight title
Efe Derin Konuk outplayed Ram Singh by UD to win UBO International light.
Ricardo Rizzi TKO’d Israr Usmani in the 2nd round to win the UBO World super welterweight title
Heavyweight Alessio Bisutti stopped Gurkan Karadag in the 1st round in UBO
