Montano to fight Thakran for UBO Continental welterweight title

JOEPHER “El Gwapito” Montano of Bago City will fight Shiva Thakran of India for the UBO Continental welterweight title on October 6, Sunday at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 28-year-old Montano recently scored a 2nd round knockout against Atchariva Wirojanasunobol of Thailand to retain his WBO Oriental welterweight title last March 30, 2024 at World Siam Stadium in Bangkok.

Montano, who is based in Dubai, currently has 18 wins with 16 knockouts against five loses and two draws while Thakran has 19 wins with five loses, one draw and 10 knockouts.

Thakran stopped Ebinesar Devanesan in the 5th round by a TKO last August 10, 2024 in Boston Public School in Agra.

The Montano-Thakran fight is among the five bouts included in the “FCC 7”.

Heavyweight –Alessio Bisutti vs. Gurkan Karadag
Lightweight - Efe Derin Konuk vs. Ram Singh
Super lightweight – Ege Arin Konuk vs. Shivam
Super welterweight – Ricardo Rizzi vs. Israr Usmani
