CHALLENGER Vincent Astrolabio of Gensan made it 117.5 while undefeated defending champion WBC World bantamweight king Junto Nakatani of Japan is 117.3 in their final weigh-in today, July 19 at Tokyo Dome Hotel.
“We are ready as always,” said Astrolabio’s chief trainer Raides “Nonoy” Neri.
After the weigh-in, the 27-year-old Astrolabio immediately took his soup of beef and chicken to recover his energy for tomorrow’s 12-round fight in Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.
“He [Astrolabio] will do everything,” said Neri, who is accompanied by Vincent Dayagonon and Aries Buenavidez.
MP Promotions head Sean Gibbons also arrived in Tokyo from Las Vegas last Wednesday.
Astrolabio has 19 wins with 4 loses and 14 knockouts while Nakatani has 27 wins with 20 knockouts.
Meanwhile, Kosei Tanaka of Japan will defend his WBO World super flyweight title against Jonathan Rodriguez of Mexico while former WBC Youth world light flyweight champion Riku Kano will fight Anthony Olascuaga of USA for the vacant WBO World flyweight title.
Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotion is promoting the fight.
