Guro, Rivas to face opponents in title matches

DAVAO CITY – Former world champion Norj Guro and Carleans “Chay” Rivas will both face separate opponents as they clash tomorrow, May 30 at Spaceplus Bangkok RCA in Bangkok, Thailand.

Guro [12-8-1, 4KOs] will face Phunnakran Karnjanawong [4-2-1, 2KOs] of Thailand at 102 lbs.

Rivas [8-7-4] will fight Panumad Bubpamalo [4-4-0, 3KOs] of Thailand for 108 lbs.

The other fighter fighting for a title match is Jimmy “Popeye” Payna [19-6-1, 7KOs] of Lanao del Norte against Campee Phayom [24-10-2, 16KOs] of Thailand for the ABF super lightweight title.

The other WIBA title fight features undefeated Sheau Ru Yang [5-0-0, 3KOs] of Hong Kong against Tanwarat Saengiamjit [9-5-1, 4KOs] of Thailand for the WIBA World super bantamweight title.

Two other title-fights will also be included featuring unbeaten Chaiyapong Phongwankittikun [9-0-0, 8KOs] of Thailand against compatriot Kritiphak Duangnut [3-3-0] for ABF super featherweight title and undefeated Ismat Guliver [14-0-0, 12KOs] versus Ahmad Samir Dawrani [10-3-1, 7KOs] for WBC Asian Silver middleweight title.

Two other Filipino boxers will also fight on the card.

Reigning WBO Inter-Continental super flyweight champion Jay “The Dreamer” Raquinel [15-2-1, 12KOs] of Negros Occidental will trade punches with former IBF Pan Pacific flyweight champion Komgrich Nantapech [35-10-0, 25KOs] of Thailand while current ABF Welterweight champion Ador Torres [11-4-1, 8KOs] of Sorsogon will face Jaysada Pithakdanthai [3-4-0, 2KOs] of Thailand in 6-rounds.

The boxing fight is dubbed as “Champions Arise” with Supanat Chanram and Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Promotions as the promoters.
