UNDISPUTED super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue came back from a 1st round knockdown to stop Luis “Pantera” Nery in the 6th round and keep his titles last Monday night, May 6 at Tokyo Dome, Japan.

Inoue was shocked after he was down by a left hand by Neri in the 1st round. It was the first knockdown he suffered in his career.
But Inoue came back in the 2nd round with his own knockdown by his left hand also.

Inoue complained to the referee that Neri was pushing in the 3rd round. Inoue already got his confidence as he hit Neri with several combinations in the 4th and 5th rounds.

In the 6th round, Inoue hit Neri with a right followed by a left to finally put a stop on Neri, who was down near the ropes.
Inoue improved his record to 27 wins and 24 knockouts while Nery suffered only his second loss against 35 wins.

Meanwhile, challenger Yoshiki Takei of Japan took the WBO Bantamweight World title after beating Jason Moloney of Australia by a unanimous decision.
