Segara bags two golds in elementary division for DC

DAVAO CITY -- Hannah Segara of Davao City completed a double gold in the elementary girl’s division of chess in the DAVRAA Meet at the Davao Chong Hua High School in Bajada.

Segara took the individual gold by scoring 7.0 points. She also paired with Ellie Georgia Chang [3.5] for 10.5 points to win the gold in the team event.

Hadassah Literatus and Nathalie Suter, also of DC Durians, topped the secondary girls team event after a triple tie with Aliyah Rae Lumangtad of Tagum City with 6.0 points.

Lumangtad and Hannah Mica Sidayon [3.5] also finished silver in the team event. Bronze went to Panabo City’s tandem Princes Dianna Simbajon [4.5] and Angel Sarastre [4].

Simbajon, on the other hand, ruled the secondary girl’s individual with 7.0 points.

Literatus got the silver with 5.5 points while bronze went to Suter at 5.0 points.

Mhylcrese Wayne Patremenio of Digos City beat Adrei Ainsley Dolorosa of Davao City in a tiebreak after tying at 5.5 points in the secondary boy’s individual.

John Cesar Suralta [5] of Davao de Oro got the bronze.
