DAVRAA: Davao del Norte is boxing champ

DAVAO del Norte Pioneers emerged as the overall champion in boxing of the DAVRAA Meet last April 5 at the Almendras Gym in Davao City.

The Pioneers garnered four golds to beat former champion Davao City Durian, who settled for silver with three golds.

The Pioneers got the golds from Therence Anduyo [school boys pinweight 44-46kg], Jefferson Amaya [junior boys lightfly over 46-48kg], Mark Baryll Dabuda [junior boys light bantamweight over 50-52kg] and Jeffrey Omila [junior boys over 52-54kg].

Anduyo beat John Michael Castro of Davao del Sur while Amaya outboxed Jared Edison Prevendido of Davao del Sur.

Dabuda lambasted Brix Allin Batocael of Davao City while Omila trounced Aeron Rein Pardillo also of Davao City.

DC Durians got its golds from Miguelito Bantilan Jr. [junior boys light bantamweight over 50-52kg], Ramie Laput Jr. [youth boys flyweight over 48-51kg] and Nicp Carlo Insigne [youth boys bantamweight].

Bantilan beat Aaron Rein Pardillo of Davao del Norte while Laput won by a unanimous decision over Rowel Lacar of Digos City.
Insigne scored a split decision against Cyrus Jay Cabigas of Davao del Sur by 3-2.
