
RMC, City High A top AFC Women’s Football

DAVAO CITY –- Host Rizal Memorial Colleges Bulldog and Davao City High School Team A- Knaji ruled the AFC Women's Football Day held last March 23 at the RMC field in Torres Street.
RMC mentored by Coach Marian Napoles nipped CR7 Foodtruck-B, 1-0 in the finals.
Gizzelle Anne Lapiseros scored outside the penalty area.
Goalkeeper Dianna Batal of RMC was the most outstanding player.
Second runner-up was Holy Cross of Davao College Golden Shield-B followed by HCDC Golden Shield-A.
City High A-Knaji, on the other hand, dominated the Girl’s 18 category by outscoring Magdum Football Club, 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out.
City High coached by Alexander Gamat saved the first kicker of Magdum.
The scorers for City High were Akeasia Xonia Abad, Gracielle Angela Elises and Elizabeth Gamat while for Magdum were Jane Mae Saludares and Princess Ayumi Bayobo.
Midfielder Akeasiah Xonia Abad of City High was the most outstanding player.
Lasang FC finished second runner-up followed by Lady Knights.
The other participating teams were Fly Marites, Lasang FC, Malita Blackrose and CR7 Foodtruck-A for the Women’s Open while City High B, D’DS Khanj, Sto Niño FC and Bellas NewGen for the Girl’s 18.
Former national team players Vanessa Delos Angeles-Leonar, Michelle Alfeche-Javellana and Moira Calizo made the ceremonial kick off.
“Thank you very much to all the participants for celebrating with us the AFC Women's Football Day,” said organizer Ching delos Reyes.
The sponsors were RMC Football Varsity Team & Admin, Khanj T-Shirt Maker, Hinex and PERM Janitorial and Allied Services, Team Acosta, Free Moringa Tuna Lugaw and 3Dees Printing Services.
“This event was organized by D' Davao Survivors FC, the 1st all-female football team since 2006 partnered with RMC Bulldogs headed by coach Kitoy Canton and Imarddino Polo”, said Delos Reyes.
RMC football moms were also present and played against D'DS players in a friendly game.
