DAVAO CITY – DMMA College of Southern Philippines and host University of Mindanao ruled the 87th Araw ng Dabaw Inter-Collegiate Men's and Women's Volleyball League held last week at the UM Matina campus.

DMMA mentored by Kim Palmero defeated guest team Davao City National High School in the finals of the men’s division.

DCNHS, who is preparing for the DAVRAA Meet 2024 next month, settled for first runner-up.

Philippine Women’s College finished second runner-up followed by third runner-up with Jose Maria College Foundation.

UM, on the other hand, demolished Holy Cross of Davao College in the women’s division finals.

Ateneo de Davao University placed second runner-up followed by another guest team, AdDU High School.

One of the purpose of the grassroots program for Davao City volleyball is to strengthen its delegates to Regional and National Competitions.

“We want to help our high school players level up their skills and compete with the best collegiate teams in the city,” said Sherwin Peñero Maganda, president of Balibolista de Dabaw (BDD).
