DAVAO CITY – The University of Mindanao in Davao aims to make a repeat in winning the over-all champion in the Davao City Athletic Festival set on March 23 and 25 at the UM Matina Campus in Ma-a.
This was revealed by UM Davao coach Det Harrish Ratag.
“We will try our best to win the over-all championship,” said the 49-year-old Ratag.
Those who have won the gold last year will again see action this year.
“My only problem with long distance is a bit slow because he is a new athlete,” said Ratag.
Derreck Jatico will compete for UM against former UM athlete Sonny Wagdos, who is now with the Philippine Airforce team.
“But all my players will just play and give them a fight,” said Ratag.
Meanwhile, the billeting quarters at Ma-a Central Elementary School is from March 22, 5 pm onwards until March 24, 7 pm only.
There are now 31 teams listed in the participants.
The athletes are 13 under, 18 under and 19 above.
The event is organized by the Davao City Track and Field Association (DCTAFA) headed by Kenneth Sai.
It is sponsored by the Philippine Track and Field Association (PATAFA) and AmFm Productions.
