VIRGEL “Valiente” Vitor landed a solid right to knock out Tae Sun Kim of South Korea in the 7th round to win the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental super featherweight title last night, March 8 at the Saulog Gym in Tagbilaran City.

The 26-year-old Vitor was also knocked down by Kim early in the second round after he first downed the Korean in the opening round.

Vitor said that he listened to his coaches’ advice after he was knocked down by Kim in the second round.

“I had to be more careful and wait for the timing,” said Vitor.

After international referee Danrex Tapdasan checked on the helpless Korean, Vitor also made a quick jump and he cried for his victory.

Vitor thanked his manager lawyer Floreizyl Podot and the coaches Romnick Hoybia and Edito Ala Villamor.
