Loreto.
MARINA Loreto, wife of former world champion Rey “Hitman” Loreto, will challenge World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific minimumweight champion Mayumi Nakano of Tochigi on May 16 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The 30-year-old Loreto of Kobe is also taking her Japan Boxing Commission minimumweight title against Nakano.
Loreto recently settled a majority draw with Sayo Segawa in her first title-defense last November 12, 2023 at EDION Arena in Osaka.
Loreto has six wins with two draws while the 26-year-old Nakano has six victories with three knockouts with one loss.
Nakano took away the WBO Asia Pacific minimumweight title from Riyuna Yoshikawa by a majority decision last January 12, 2024 in Korakuen Hall.
The double-title showdown is promoted by Issei Nakaya of the Hachioji Nakaya Promotions.
