
Arca tops Singapore Chess Festival Qualifying Tournament

DAVAO CITY -- FM Christian Gian Karlo Arca tallied 5.5 points to win the Open category in the Singapore Chess Festival Qualifying tournament held last February 25 at the Damosa Market Basket in Lanang.
Arca earned P2,000 plus a medal and a chance to represent Davao City in the finals.
NM Aglipay Oberio, Anthony Mosqueda and Jayson Mosqueda, who finished with identical five points and P1,100 each will also join Arca in the finals.
In the Junior 16 under category, AFM Andrei Ainsley Dolorosa topped with six points.
Second was Aaron Aton followed by Monica Lorraine Togonon and Jess Raphael Aballar with five points each.
Ferdinand Leysa ruled the Seniors 50 above with four points. He is followed by Jimmy Dano, Roberto Atog and NM Macacuna Macala.
The tournament director is NA Allan Diaz while the Chief Arbiter is NA Joseph Palero, Deputy Chief Arbiter NA Cecilio Acas and Arbiter NA Alfred Moulic.
