The official weigh-in between top challenger Ariel Delgado and no. 6 contender Roel Laguna will be held today at the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) office as the two dispute the Philippine interim supe-bantamweight title on Thursday in Baras, Rizal.
The weigh-in is set at 1 p.m. with both fighters expected to tip the scale at 122 pounds.
Delgado is currently the WBC ABCO-super-bantamweight champion while Laguna, a former amateur standout, is currently one of the rising prospects in the division, sporting a 8-2-1 card, including 5 by knockouts.
Regular RP champion Jun Talape is set to fight for the Orient Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) super-bantamweight title opposite reigning champion Wethya Sakmuangklang of Thailand later this month.
In the event Talape beat Sakmuangklang and annexed the OPBF title, the winner between the Delgado-Laguna slugfest will be declared the new regular crown holder.
But a Talape loss will set him up for a title fight against the winner of the Delgado-Laguna bout.
The 12-round encounter dubbed `War Zone in Baras?, is presented by Save-by-the-bell Promotions and will be aired every Sunday from 12-1 p.m. over ABC-5.
