Virgel “Valiente” Vitor of PMI Bohol Boxing Stable aims to regain his World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental super featherweight title in the co-main event of the boxing card entitled “Kumong Bol-Anon XIII” which will be fought on December 28, 2023, at the Bohol Wisdom School gymnasium in his hometown in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Vitor will tangle with Tae Sun Kim of Seoul, South Korea who is an orthodox fighter like him. Vitor will fight the Korean after losing to Japanese Toshihiro Suzuki (4-0-0, 3 KOs) via split decision in his first fight in Japan which was held in Korakuen Hall, Tokyo last August 24.

Vitor lost his WBO Oriental super featherweight title because of inactivity. He won the WBO Oriental title on December 8, 2022 when he knocked out another Korean foe, Dong Kwan Lee, (17-5-2, 8 KOs) in the second round in a bout at the Calape Sports Center in Calape, Bohol. Lee went down with a right and was able to beat the count of referee Danrex Tapdasan but he fell again to the canvas at the 2:55 mark for the KO.

The 26-year-old Vitor of Tagbilaran City was on an eight-fight winning streak before he lost to Suzuki via an eight-round split decision.

After losing to Mark Anthony Geraldo by KO, he got wins over Campee Phayom by KO, Dong Kwan Lee by KO, Arnon Yupang by KO, Ivor Lastrilla by TKO, Jecker Buhawe by KO, Lorence Rosas by UD, Alan Alberca by KO and Jeffrey Stella by KO .

His professional record is 21 wins, 14 knockouts, and 3 losses. Kim has a record of 11 wins with eight knockouts, one loss and two draws.

Kim has been the South Korean super featherweight champion for a long time. His only defeat was dealt with by countryman Yeong Min Kim on July 13, 2018 in only his fifth pro fight.

Kim fought in Bangkok, Thailand where he scored a sixth round technical knockout against Frenchman Giuliano Fantone last July 29.

He also scored stoppage wins over Qiang Ma, Moo Hyun Kim, Min Yang (twice), and Kook Min Moon.

Vitor will fight Kim for 12 rounds for the WBO Oriental super featherweight title and it will be featured as the co-main event of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimumweight title eliminator between fellow PMI fighter Jake Amparo and former IBF minimumweight champion Pedro Taduran.
