UNDEFEATED Kenneth “The Lover Boy” Llover defeated former OPBF light flyweight champion Edward Heno by a unanimous decision to win the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Continental bantamweight title on November 5 in General Trias, Cavite.
The 20-year-old Llover scored identical cards of 116-112 in all three judges.
Llover, who is trained by Jonathan Peñalosa, is the premier fighter of the Gerrypens Promotions owned by former three-division world champion Gerry Peñalosa.
Llover, also a former Philippine Youth bantamweight champion, improved his record to 11 straight wins with seven knockouts.
Heno, on the other hand, suffered his fourth setback. He previously lost to Kevin Jake Cataraja for the OPBF super flyweight title last February by unanimous decision.
The event was promoted by Gerry Peñalosa with Art Monis as the matchmaker.
It was sponsored by Arena Plus and Blackwater.
