JAYR “The Dreamer” Raquinel of Negros Occidental is scheduled to leave Manila for Nagoya, Japan, November 7 to challenge newly-crowned Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) super flyweight champion Kevin Jake “KJ’’ Cataraja of Cebu on November 11 at the Prefectural Budokan in Nagoya.
The 26-year-old Raquinel is leaving together with trainer Alan Alegria and assistant manager Eric Santig.
“My preparation is good and I have put on weight already,” said Raquinel (15-2-1, 12KOs).
Raquinel had a sparring with lightweight MJ “Young Gun” Uduna (7-2-2, 3KOs), Reymond Yanong (12-9-1, 9KOs), Sonny Katiandagho (14-6-0, 12K0s) and Genisis Libranza (20-3-0, 12KOs).
“I’m excited now and I'm ready for the fight,” said Raquinel.
It will be the first time for Cataraja to fight in Japan and the first to defend the title.
