BANGKOK, Kingdom of Thailand — World ranked Filipino Light Flyweight John Michael Zulueta of Bacolod feels more than ready to trade hard blows against taller Thailand man of war Oatkowit Kamlangcharoey, a former Muay Thai combatant determined to scalp the Pinoy.

Fresh from a recent gig in Japan as main sparring partner for the Shigeoka world champion brothers, John Michael Zulueta 15-0-3, 8 KO’s) risks his standing in the world rankings, his unblemished record, as well as his regional Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) Light Flyweight Strap by taking on Oatkowit Kamlangcharoey, a serious man of combat with one goal in his mind: to defeat the Filipino.

Their televised ten-round rumble will unfold as one of the featured title fights for the newest Highland d Boxing Promotions show, unwrapping on Thursday, October 26, at the luxurious SpacePlus Night Club, RCA Plaza, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Born in Calatrava, Zulueta will be guided during battle by experienced head coach Frank Jaro of Rizal, by assistant coach former fighter Jomar Fajardo, and also by team leader former Muay Thai warrior Brico Santig of Benguet.

Will the taller and fearless Oatkowit succeed by harshly ravaging and tormenting the cool and promising kid from Negros Occidental?

Or will it be the 28-year-old John Michael Zulueta the one to rock and stop the Thai in a thrilling performance, reassuring himself as a boxer of class, skills and speed in the 105 and 108 weight classes?

The 9-bout show includes the ten-frame title battle of undefeated Filipina Wenie Cline Verano (10-0, 7 KO’s) against younger and taller Ketsara Samkokgym for the WBC Asia Flyweight Strap.

The first bout of the exciting show starts at 2:30 pm local Thailand Time (3:30 pm in the Philippines).

Billed as “Way of the Champions: Fight to Survive” the event is a production of Brico Santig and Supanat Chanram in association with Tony Chen.

May the Best Man Win!
