VETERAN boxing trainer Francisco Jaro, who is now based in Bangkok, Thailand has again produced a new champion.

He is Herlan "Nino Bonito" Gomez of Bacolod City, who won the World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia Silver bantamweight champion.

The 24-year-old Gomez stopped Komgrich Nantapech of Thailand with a devastating 1st round knockout last September 28 at the Spaceplus Bangkok RCA in Bangkok.

Gomez (11-1-0, 8KOs) is also the current Asian Boxing Federation bantamweight champion.

The 57-year-old Jaro, on the other hand, began training boxers at the Highland Boxing Gym of Brico Santig in September 2023.

His other boxers are Ador Torres, who is currently the ABF welterweight champion and former ABF light flyweight champion Jomar "Wallopman" Fajardo.

Torres, 28, recently retained his title by knocking out Phanthawit Chupirom of Thailand in the 2nd round last September 28 at Spaceplus.

Jaro arrived in Thailand in March 2023 and worked with the Galaxy Gym in Bangkok. His last assignment was on WBA champion Teratai last August 26 in Dubai.

He also formerly handled 7-time world flyweight champion Amnat Ruengroeng of Thailand.

Jaro first took the job on training former WBC World flyweight champion and OPBF light flyweight champion Sonny Boy Jaro of Silay City and ex-WBC Silver minimumweight champion Denver ‘The Excitement’ Cuello of Iloilo City.
