Carcedo to fight Canega on Sept. 23

JHUN Rick "Iron Fist" Carcedo of Davao City will fight undefeated Ali "The Carnage" Canega on September 23 for the Blow by Blow at the Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology Gym in Mandaluyong City.

The 24-year-old Carcedo, however, is coming from a 2nd round technical knockout loss to Jakhongir Rasulov on April 22, 2023 in Melbourne.

Carcedo earlier won the vacant WBF Asia Pacific super light title by stopping Antonio Siesmundo in the 3rd round on July 23, 2022 in Tagbilaran City.

Canega, on the other hand, also stopped Siesmundo in the 1st round last July 14, 2023 in Quezon City.

Canega has nine wins with one draw and six knockouts while Carcedo also got nine wins with nine knockouts but has two loses.

Pitted in the main supporting bout are super bantamweight Gary “Laser" Tamayo (9-1-0, 5KOs) of Malabon City against Joseph "The Scorpion" Ambo (12-3-1, 7K0S) of Cagayan de Oro City.

Former world champion Manny Pacquiao of MP Promotions is the promoter while Art Monis is the matchmaker.
