BANGKOK, Thailand -- Herlan "Niño Bonito" Gomez of Bacolod City will fight for the vacant World Boxing Council Asian Silver bantamweight title against Komagrich Nantapech of Thailand on September 28 at Spaceplus Bangkok RCA in Bangkok.

The 24-year-old Gomez is now training at the Highland Boxing Gym in Bangkok with veteran Francisco Jaro.

He is doing sparring sessions with teammate Ador Torres, reigning Asian Boxing Federation welterweight champion.

Torres is now also fighting with former WBC Youth World super lightweight champion Sonny "Pinoy Hearns" Katiandagho on the same card on September 28 at Spaceplus.

Gomez is more confident to fight this time because he is in good condition.

"After I finished the fight in Dubai last time, I rested for two days then came back to train right away and my condition is okay," said Gomez.

Gomez stopped Vikash Dahiya of India in the 1st round last August 26 at the Le Meridian Dubai Hotel in Dubai.

It will be 6th fight in 2023.

"I will do everything to win in this fight," said Gomez.

Gomez has now 10 wins with one loss and seven knockouts, while Nantapech has 32 wins, 8 loses and 23 knockouts.

The 32-year-old Nantapech recently halted Watcharaphon Sarasphai via a technical knockout in the 6th round last July 27, 2023 in Spaceplus.

The boxing event is promoted by Supanat Chanram, Baris Erdogan of Tunal Academy and Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Team.
