27 pairs in Kadayawan Open netfest

TWENTY-SEVEN pairs will see action in the Open Men and Women’s Division of the 38th Kadayawan Veterans Doubles Tennis Championship at the Ecoland 4 Tennis Club in Davao City.

Organizer Juanito “Titong” Cansino said the men’s open will have 21 pairs while the women’s open has six.

The men’s pairs are led by top seed 2023 Palarong Pambansa gold medalist Jude Andrei Padao of Digos City, who is paired with Isaac Cristian Lim of Toril, Davao City.

They will face the winner between Zeus Derecho and Kurt Salazar against Angelo Regino and Denmar Prias.

The other games also set at 10 a.m. are: Alrich Sy-Josh Bueno versus Ellan Enriquez-Paolo Pulpul; Marvin Camino-Kent Pasaol against Mark Bentulan-Jeshrey Mesagrande; Francis Louie Amazona-Vince Veracion battles with Liam Palma-Bryle Sermese; Jeshreall Anniana-Carlo Guirra will play Johnrey Litang-Aaron Saratao.

The other players are John Emmanuel Estrope-Kaiser Mlok; Rossel Judabal-Fritz Domingo, AJ Alejandre-Rayyan Macaraob, Jasan Batta-James Aquino, Paolo Ramos-Andre Jay Matubang and Andre Sing-John Rhik Gatchalian.

In the Women’s Open, Soccoro Trumpeta of Tagum City and Joyce Haro of Davao City are the top seeds.

The other categories are the 25 above women’s doubles, 35 above men’s doubles, 45 above men’s doubles, 55 above men’s doubles and the Men and Women Mixed doubles.

“The mixed 25 above women will combine with 65 above men,” said Cansino.

Meanwhile, former banker Romulo Guerrero is the new president of the Ecoland 4 Tennis Club.

The other new officers are Harould Caingles as vice-president; Ian Glenn Ocmen – secretary; Apollo Alquiza – treasurer; Nicolas Rey – auditor; Lowell Cocjim – public relation officer; and Wilfredo Neri – court manager.

The Chairman of the Board is lawyer Dennis Dagohoy while the members are Jackie Louie Solibio, Bruce Concepcion, Jenie Nacilla, Jeny Piore, Paul Mendez, Romeo Chavez, Zosimo Gonzaga and Carmelito Lademora.
