ANGELO “Axe Boy” Beltran of Bukidnon landed a solid left hook to knock down Reycar “The Machine” Auxilio of Cebu in the 2nd round to win the Mindanao Professional Boxing Association (MinProBA) super bantamweight title last night, June 25 at the Barangay 19-B Gym in Bacaca, Bajada.

It was similar to an axe that hit Auxilio on the face.

Betran and Auxillo were both trading body blows and hitting punches on the faces since the start of the 1st round.

But Betran proved to be stronger as he landed a vicious left hook to send Auxillo down near the ropes.

Betran ran around the ring as a sign of victory with his manager Firmo Aligato.

“I really pray for this fight to get the victory,” said Beltran, who received the golden belt from Kagawad Jenny Ann Nicolas.

Aligato, on the other hand, thanked Barangy 19-B for giving an opportunity to Alcazar and Amoy Gym.

“Congratulations to all boxers and everyone for the successful event,” said Aligato.

Meanwhile, Alvin Camique of General Santos City scored a 7th round technical knockout over former LuProBA super bantamweight championMateo “Waray Warrior” Handig of Samar to win the vacant MinProBA bantamweight title

The 25-year-old Camigue, who fights like former world champion Mike Tyson, immediately started hot by hitting punches that saw Handig covering his face.

Handig also tried to hit his jabs until he quit after the 6th round.

The other results:

Undefeated Nelbert Gaballo settled a majority draw with Ramil Antaran in an 8-rounder;

Alvin Vergara stopped Jhesriel Vijano in the 2nd round of a 6 rounder;
Crisalito Beltran beat Rodrigo Virtudazo;
