Araneta KOs former WBC ABC super fly champ

CHRISTIAN “The Bomb” Araneta of Mandaue City exploded with another bomb by knocking out former World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council Silver Super flyweight champion Jakrawut Majungoen of Thailand in the 9th round last April 1 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.

It was the 23rd win and the 18th knockout against two losses by the 28-year-old Araneta.

Araneta was previously the last opponent of the late Robert “Toto” Landero, who died due to strong current last July 2022 in Negros Occidental.

Araneta also lost to Sivenathi Nontshinga by unanimous decision despite knocking down the South African in the last round last April 24, 2021 in Gqebera.

Meanwhile, Benny Canete of Siquijor beat veteran Renoel Pael of Leyte in the 10-rounder main supporting bout.

The other bouts:

Pete Apolinar decisioned Reymond Empic;

Jason Canoy Manigos outscored Michael Adolfo;

Franco Serafica beat Marjon Piencenaves.
