FORMER marathon queen Maria Estela Mamac-Diaz is definitely the favorite in the women’s category in the 42K of the Davao International Marathon on March 5 at the People’s Park in Davao City.
The 51-year-old Mamac-Diaz of Davao will be challenged by Rosalyn Agatia of the Island Garden of Samal and Ihing Ortiz of Bukidnon.
Meanwhile, Romil Neri of Bukidnon, Rodel Salvanez and Arlan Arbois of Davao are the top favorites in the men’s category.
“There are a total of 334 runners in the 42k while there are also 2,000 plus kids,” said race director Roel Amabao-Ano.
The 42k race will start at 2 a.m. to be followed by the 21k,10k and 5k.
