BREAKING NEWS: NIETES TO DEFEND WBO CROWN IN MEXICO!

World Boxing Organization (WBO) minimumweight kingpin Donnie Nietes of the ALA Boxing Gym will defend his crown for the first time on July 5 against Mexican Erik Ramirez at the Estadio Hurac?n in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico.
This was announced today by Nietes' manager Michael Aldeguer during the formal announcement of the AJ Banal-Rafael Concepcion WBA superflyweight title showdown.
Aldeguer stressed that the fight is about "ninety percent done" and Nietes will be fighting alongside WBA featherweight champ Chris John.
John will defend his 126-lb crown against Mexican Michael Lozada in a 12-round face-off.
Nietes (22-1-3, 13 KO's) took the WBO crown with a unanimous decision win over Pornsawan Kratingdaenggym last year.
Ramirez (24-5-1, 19 KO's) holds the WBC FECARBOX minimumweight crown.
