UNDEFEATED Cristian Pitt “Golden Boy” Laurente of General Santos City will again fight for the championship on February 27 at the Lagao Gym in Gensan.

The 21-year-old Laurente will battle against Arnel “The Silencer” Baconaje of Iloilo for the vacant Philippine super featherweight title.

Laurente recently won the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation super featherweight title by stopping JR Magboo in the just the 1st round in Mandaluyong City.

Laurente, who is currently 65 kilos, has been sparring in the Sanman Boxing Gym.

“I will just do my best to win,” said Laurente.

He now has 11 wins with seven knockouts while Baconaje has 15 wins, six loses with 11 knockouts.

The 29-year-old Baconaje had two fights last year. He first won via a unanimous decision against Leanardo Doronio last March 12 at Elorde Sport Complex.

But Baconaje lost by a majority decision to Hong Quan Dinh of Vietnam for the IBF Asia lightweight title last December 10 in Vietnam.

It will be the second time for Laurente to be in the main event of the Blow by Blow by Sen. Manny Pacquiao.

Two-time world champion Gerry “Fearless” Peñalosa has been tasked by Pacquiao to handle the logistics of putting up fights with the help of seasoned matchmaker Art Monis.
