Zamboanga City's local hero and WBO Oriental featherweight champion Eric Canoy of the Blue Stallion Stable of Congressman Erbie Fabian returns to action tomorrow with a ten-round bout against Felipe Demicillo headlining a 10-bout card at the airconditioned Zamboanga City Coliseum.

The bout topbills the "Golpe Golpe na Zamboanga: Summer Showdown" card put up by Blue Stallion Promotions.

This will be Canoy's first fight after winning the prestigious regional crown with a ninth-round technical knockout victory over Rajabu Maoja in February.

The bout will also be Canoy's lead up to a huge July 27 title defense against the hugely-popular Thai Terdsak Jandaeng, who holds the WBO Asia Pacific featherweight crown.

"We are putting up this event to keep Canoy active. We have faith in him to give us some more proud moments down the line," said Congressman Fabian, who is credited for resurrecting Canoy's boxing career from the doldrums.

The undefeated Canoy is best known for his victory over Thailand's Olympic gold medallist Somluck Kamsing, a win he continues to relish up to this day.

Also set to see action is Roldan Castrodes who will take on Rodel Veronque (8 rds), while Noel Adelmita goes up against Brian Diano (8 rds).

The rest of the card pits Kid Fernandez versus Dave Cris (8 rds); Roland Teofilo vs Marlon Mangubat (8 rds); Felix Tanamor versus Juan Purisima (6 rds); John Henry Gaspar against Ronnie Pelonia (6rds); Marlon Canoy versus Richard Donaire (6rds); Marvin Mabait against Jayson Binayrao (6rds); and Conrado Tanamor versus McDo Lungay (4rds).

First bout starts at 5PM.
