FORMER IBF world champion Rene Mark “Mighty Mouse” Cuarto of MP Boxing Gym is back with a 2nd round smashing victory against Dexter “Iligan Cement Kidmama” Alimento of Iligan City last December 23 at the Baliok Gym in Baliok, Talomo, Davao City.

The 26-year-old Cuarto unleased his powerful left punch to hurt Alimento for good in one minute and 16 seconds.

“I’m back and I’m willing to fight more,” said Cuarto.

Cuarto now has 21 wins, three loses, two draws with 12 knockouts.

He is presently rated no. 3 in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimumweight division.

He is also ranked no. 7 by the World Boxing Association and no. 9 by the World Boxing Council.

He previously lost his International Boxing Federation (IBF) World minimumweight title in his second title defense against Daniel “Cejitas” Valladares of Mexico by a split decision last July 1 in Mexico.

The boxing event was promoted by Raides “Nonoy” Neri of MP Promotions in cooperation with Kapitan Ricky “Eking” Liparanon.

Meanwhile, former world champion Vic "Vicious" Saludar of Polomolok stopped Ariston Aton of Lapu-Lapu in the 7th round to win the vacant Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) minimumweight title last December 21 at the Enan Chiong Activity Center, Naga City.

The 32-year-old Saludar now has a record of 22-6-0 with 12 KO wins.

Saludar held the WBO mini-flyweight title from 2018 to 2019 and the WBA mini-flyweight title in 2021.

He won the vacant WBA mini-flyweight title against Robert Paradero by split decision in February 2021. He lost the title to Erick Rosa by split decision in December 2021 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
