BOXER Jestine “Golden Punch” Tesoro of Bansalan, Davao del Sur wants the Games and Amusement Board to review his recent fight against undefeated Daniel "Vaquero" Nicolas for the vacant WBO Oriental Youth featherweight title last December 8 at Calape, Bohol.

The 23-year-old Tesoro lost despite almost knocking out Nicolas in the 8th and final round.

Actually, Tesoro scored a “knock down” on Nicolas three times in the last round.

But referee Almar Kelly Odiong from Davao City did not make any mandatory count.

Adiong, who came from Dubai, failed to give Nicolas a mandatory count at least three times.

In his last knockdown, Nicolas was holding on Tesoro’s shorts and later down on his knees. But no count from Adiong.

Nicolas was able to stand up after a few seconds to fight against Tesoro but subsequently it also ended.

Nicolas had to be given oxygen after the fight while waiting for the announcement of the winner.

International referee-judge Atty. Danrex Tapdasan scored the fight, 77-74 for Tesoro. He even scored in the 8th and final round at 10-8 for Tesoro.

But judges Edward Ligas and Rafael Osumo both saw it 77-75 for Nicolas.

Tesoro’s manager Art Monis wants the GAB and the World Boxing Organization to review the fight.

"I want a rematch," said Tesoro, who suffered his 5th loss against 7th wins.

The 23-year old Nicolas, on the other hand, took his 7th straight win.
