Dadivas TKOs Abcede in 5th round

ORTHODOX Ruben Dadivas of Davao City stopped Jaysever Abcebe of Bukidnon in the 5th round via a technical knockout in the main event of the “Pamaskong Handog ni Sen. Manny Pacquiao” yesterday December 17 at the Oval Plaza in General Santos City.

The 23-year-old Dadivas scored an early 1st round knockdown which almost had a slip by Ancede.

Abcede was again knocked down by Dadivas with a powerful punch in the 3rd round which was very clear.

But Abcede was able to stand up to fight back against Dadivas for the rest of 3rd round.

In the 4th round, Dadivas was hit by an illegal blow by Abcede and he had to take a rest.

The 28-year-old Abcede was again downed by Dadivas with a smashing punch in the early 5th round.

Abcede was again able to recover but he was finally again hit by Dadivas for a knockout with 2:59 in the 5th round.

Dadivas improved his record to nine wins, two loses with four knockouts while Absede suffered his 12th loses against 21 wins.

Meanwhile, veteran Jose “The Bomber” Ocampo of Alabel, Sarangani finally won after his last victory in October 2016.

The 33-year-old Ocampo defeated Jestoni “Lion Heart” Autida of Zamboanga del Sur by a unanimous decision.

Ocampo hits with his punches while eluding Autida’s jabs.

The boxing show was supervised by two-weight world champion Gerry “Fearless” Penalosa while the matchmaker is Art Monis.

Pacquiao, who celebrated his 44th birthday also yesterday, December 17, is the only eight-division world champion in the history of boxing and has won twelve major world titles.

James Errol Gahaton of Gensan knockdown Reenie Alisoso in the 2nd round;
Dave Villamor hammered Rey Castrodes by UD;
Pepito Masangkay out punched Reymart Gayula by UD;
Alvin Vergara beat Rocky Sardido by a UD.
