VINCENT “Asero” Astrolabio of General Santos City stopped Nikolai Potapov at 1:29 of the 6th round to win the vacant WBO Inter-Continental bantamweight title Saturday, December 17 at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in Vegas Chelsea Ballroom.

The 25-year-old Astrolabio also earlier downed Potapov in Round 1 and 5 with his left punches.

Astrolabio now has 18 wins with 13 knockouts against three losses while Potapov suffered his third loss against 23 wins and one draw.

Astrolabio earlier beat former world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux by a unanimous decision for the vacant WBC International bantamweight title last February 26 in Dubai.

“First of all, I thank the Lord for giving me strength and endurance in this fight,” said Astrolabio.

Astrolabio thanked Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Sean Gibbons of MP Promotions and his manager-trainer Raides “Nonoy” Neri.
