
Samal, Tagum enter finals of Elite Division

UNDEFEATED Samal and Tagum beat separate rivals to arrange a title match in the Barangay Elite Division of the ALDU Cup last December 10 at Barangay Ramihan in Panabo City.
Samal Island crushed Panabo City, 95-81 while Tagum City demolished Carmen, 108-87.
It was a close fight in the first quarter with Samal leading by only two points 30-28. But Samal then erupted a 24-6 blast to widen their lead, 54-33 in the second quarter.
Samal never looked back as they took 73-57 in the 3rd quarter.
The Sagare brothers combined for 47 points.
Tagum, on the other hand, immediately take the lead 27-18 but Carmen blasted a 16-26 bomb to grab the upperhand at 43-44.
Tagum, however, bounced back with 41 points to grab the lead, 84-73 in the 3rd quarter and never came back for a one-sided match.
Tagum and Samal will play in the championship next year.
“We want to inform all participating teams that we will continue with our league on January 7 and 8. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year everyone,” said Commissioner Arman Sañano of Davao del Norte Basketball League.
