NORJ Guro of Iligan City failed to win the vacant World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific female minimumweight title last November 27 at the Sofia Sakai in Sakai, Japan.
The 32-year-old Guro lost via a unanimous decision to Riyuna Yoshikawa of Japan.
“I'm sorry because I failed to win this match. I'll be back next time,” said Guro.
Guro suffered her 8th loss against 12 wins, one draw with four knockouts while the 21-year-old Yoshikawa, on the other hand, improved her record to five wins, one loss, one draw with one knockout.
Guro, however, is still the World Boxing Council Silver atomweight champion after she won by a split decision to Denise Castle of United Kingdom last March 26 at Habtoor Grand Hotel in Dubai.
